AI Image Text Rendering Guide
Get cleaner lettering in-frame—placement, contrast, font vocabulary, and when to design text outside the model.
Shorter copy wins
Long paragraphs rarely render perfectly. Prefer 3–8 words for logos, headlines, or packaging.
Specify placement and contrast
Example:
“Bold sans-serif headline reading ‘SUMMER DROP’ centered top third, high contrast on dark navy panel, generous padding, no extra letters.”
Describe the type, not a trademark font
Use categories:
- “geometric sans-serif, tight tracking”
- “condensed grotesk, all caps”
- “rounded friendly sans for a kids product label”
Reduce competing texture behind text
Busy backgrounds destroy legibility:
- “clean panel behind text, matte finish, no busy patterns behind letters”
Negative prompts for text hygiene
Add negatives for common failures:
- “misspelled text, random glyphs, watermark, UI overlay”
When not to rely on the model
For final packaging or legal lines, generate the layout and set type in Figma / Illustrator, or overlay text in post.
